Starting off as a Girl Chorister in Ripon Cathedral, Classical Crossover Soprano, Sophie Hurst, graduated from the University of Chichester Conservatoire with a Bmus (hons) Vocal performance degree. Sophie has performed in places such as New Zealand, Dublin and London, having had the privilege to recently sing as a soloist for the King’s Trust Carol Concert, alongside celebrity guests.
Sophie enjoys singing in the Comic Opera’s written by Gilbert and Sullivan and has played the Lead Soprano role in The Sorcerer at Buxton Opera House for The International G+S Festival.
She has also involved herself in many ensembles and choirs, for example singing Verdi’s Requiem and Daphnis and Chloe with the Rodolufus Choir/Philharmonia Voices/Philharmonia Orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall.
Sophie loves and is inspired by the Celtic sound and often sings traditional folk songs in her performances.
